Wang Meng's influence is unmistakable here — the dense, layered energy that fills every corner of the composition, the sense of a landscape teeming with life and refusing to be contained. This work takes that inheritance and floods it with the colors of autumn.
The foreground is extraordinary in its abundance. Twisted trunks wind through clusters of pink blossoms and golden foliage, each tree rendered in sinuous, searching lines while the canopies are built from round, distinctive strokes that give each species its own identity. Gold and pink press against deep green and dark rock with joyful insistence.
Behind them, mist opens the middle ground before mountains rise again in cool gray washes, a warm ochre peak catching light above everything.
