Inscription: 雨雪高山中。二零二一年岁末赴洛杉矶之鲍尔迪山踏雪，雪中雾松朦胧，饶有佳趣。二二年元旦写。Titled “Rain and Snow in the High Mountains” At the end of 2021, I traveled to Mount Baldy near Los Angeles to walk on the snow. Amid the falling flakes, the pine trees were cloaked in delicate rime — misty, hazy, and wonderfully enchanting. Painted on New Year’s Day, 2022.

Begun on the first day of a new year, this painting carries the quiet optimism of a fresh start tempered by the hush of falling snow. The artist's trip to Mount Baldy, walking among pines wrapped in delicate rime, becomes here a meditation on stillness and renewal in equal measure.

Towering pines dominate the foreground, their needled canopies rendered in dense, layered strokes that build real weight and volume, dark against the pale mountain beyond. Distant peaks dissolve into mist handled with soft, atmospheric washes, the snow itself suggested almost entirely through untouched paper — the brushwork shifting between extremes, bold and physical in the trees, faint and dissolving in the background ranges, capturing both the tangible cold underfoot and the hazy enchantment the inscription describes.

雨雪高山中

此画始于新年第一日，带着新岁伊始的从容期许，与落雪之静谧相融。画家赴鲍尔迪山踏雪，行走于雾凇覆盖的松林之间，此情此景化作了一幅关于静谧与新生的沉思之作。

苍松挺立于前景，针叶以浓密叠加的笔触写就，厚重而富有体量，深色映衬着身后苍白的山体。远山隐没于云雾，以柔和的大气渲染处理，雪意几乎全凭留白暗示——笔法在两极间转换，松树处沉厚有力，远山处朦胧消融，既写出脚下切实的寒意，亦传达出题识中所言那份雾凇缭绕的奇趣。
