This painting announces its lineage openly. Painted in the tradition of Hongren — the Qing dynasty monk-master known for his severe, angular compositions and profound restraint — it takes on that inheritance with confidence and makes something distinctly its own.

The scale is commanding. Sheer cliff faces rise and converge toward a narrow sliver of sky, their surfaces mapped in precise, angular cun strokes that give the rock its hard, structural character — dry, deliberate, unhurried. A waterfall descends in two stages down the right face, its white ribbon the only softness in an otherwise austere landscape. A flock of birds crosses the middle distance, small against the enormity above.

In the foreground, pine trees, bamboo, and rocks are rendered with careful, varied marks — each element given its own texture and weight, nothing borrowed from anything else.

The title promises sound. The painting delivers silence — the kind that makes you lean in and listen harder.

此画坦然道明其师承。以清代高僧画家弘仁之法写就——弘仁以峭拔险峻的构图与深沉克制著称——画者承其衣钵，自信挥毫，别开生面。

气势撼人。峭壁直立，向上收聚于一线天际，石面以干笔方折皴法细细勾勒，坚硬、沉着、不疾不徐，尽显山岩之骨气。瀑布分两段沿右侧崖面跌落，白练婉转，是这肃穆山水中唯一的柔软。数鸟横越中景，渺小于苍茫之上。

前景松木、修竹与山石，笔笔审慎，各具纹理与分量，无一笔含混借代。

题曰鸟语溪声，画中所呈却是一片寂静——那种令人屏息凝神、侧耳倾听的寂静。
